Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder has become a highlight at the Dubai Airshow 2025, drawing global attention and praise. The country has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an undisclosed nation for the sale of the fighter jet. The deal marks a significant step in expanding Pakistan’s presence in the global defense market.
While the specific country and number of jets sold have not been revealed, the MoU has sparked widespread interest in the JF-17. Several other countries have reportedly expressed strong interest in acquiring the aircraft. In 2024, Azerbaijan signed a $4.6 billion deal for the JF-17 Block III, further cementing its international appeal.
At the airshow, defense analysts and military experts highlighted the fighter jet’s capabilities, including its cost efficiency and operational versatility. The JF-17 Thunder Block III, with its advanced avionics and enhanced radar, quickly became the center of attention. Its reputation for manoeuvrability and electronic warfare systems continues to grow globally.
Pakistan’s participation in the event also saw high-level engagements, with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu holding meetings with military leaders from the UAE. Discussions focused on aerospace collaboration, training initiatives, and enhancing operational coordination. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation through joint exercises and long-term strategic partnerships.
